Itinerary
Day 1: Quito – Cotopaxi – Baños – Riobamba
AM
Start early, departing from Quito to explore the “Avenue of the Volcanoes.” Here, you will see Cotopaxi, one of the world’s highest active volcanoes. Drive through temperate valleys and villages like Latacunga and Salcedo, and then continue to Baños.
Arrive in Baños and visit the famous “Route of Waterfalls,” including Cascada de la Virgen, the Manto de la Novia, and Pailón del Diablo.
PM
Take a brief sightseeing tour of Baños before driving towards Riobamba. Along the way, admire views of the towering Chimborazo Volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador. Arrive in Riobamba for a quick city view and check into your hotel.
Day 2: Riobamba – Alausí – Ingapirca Ruins – Cuenca

After breakfast, depart from Riobamba and head south to Alausí. Along the way, visit La Balbanera, the first Spanish church built in Ecuador. In Alausí, enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque Andes.
PM
After lunch, continue south to the Ingapirca Ruins, the largest Incan site in Ecuador, where you’ll explore the Solar Temple and museum.
*End the day in Cuenca for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Cuenca

After breakfast, explore Cuenca’s colonial treasures. Visit the Cathedral, Main Square, flower market, and the San Francisco and Santo Domingo churches. Tour the Central Bank Museum, showcasing archaeological and colonial artifacts.
PM
In the afternoon, visit a Panama hat factory to see local crafts made from “toquilla” fiber. Conclude the day with a panoramic view of Cuenca from the Turi viewpoint before returning to your hotel.
Day 4: Cuenca – El Cajas National Park – Guayaquil
Visit El Cajas, experience diverse ecosystems descending to Guayaquil, and explore Ecuador’s largest port city before drop-off.
