ITINERARY
Day 1 – El Cajas National Park
In the heart of El Cajas, you’ll step into a pristine world dotted with more than 200 glacial lagoons, including the serene La Toreadora. This protected reserve offers a gentle hike through a dramatic high-altitude ecosystem, where you'll be surrounded by the rare Polylepis trees, peaceful ponds, and panoramic views. With luck, you may spot native birds and even wild llamas grazing on the hillsides. After this immersive nature walk, enjoy a warm Andean lunch at a countryside restaurant before returning to Cuenca. The evening is yours to relax—perhaps with a stroll through the colonial streets or a cozy dinner in the historic center.
