Itinerary
Day 1: Quito – Cotopaxi – Baños
AM
We will depart south from Quito to Cotopaxi National Park, home to the world’s highest active volcano. Explore the park with light hikes or take on the challenge of summiting. Admire the Rumiñahui mountain, Limpiopungo Lagoon, and the surrounding peaks like Pasochoa and Sincholagua.
PM
After lunch, visit an Ecuadorian rose plantation (Monday to Friday) and learn about Ecuador’s world-renowned rose production.
Continue through temperate valleys and charming towns like Latacunga, Salcedo, and Ambato before arriving in Baños, a town perfect for ecotourism and adventure sports.
AM
Enjoy a local breakfast in Baños, followed by a visit to the Route of Waterfalls along the Pastaza River, including Cascada de la Virgen, Bride’s Mantle, Machay, and Pailón del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron). Walk the suspension bridge for an incredible view of the powerful waterfall.
PM
Return to Baños, explore the town, and then head back to Quito, concluding the tour with more stunning Andean scenery along the way.
