Colonial Quito - El Panecillo Hill

Quito, UNESCO’s first World Cultural Heritage site (1978), boasts the largest colonial town in the Americas. Discover eclectic architecture, from modern quarters to colonial facades on churches and residences.
Visit the Gothic Basilica del Voto Nacional and Independence Square, flanked by the Palaces of the President and Archbishop. Walk to the Metropolitan Cathedral to see Spanish Renaissance samples.

Stroll along the street of the Seven Crosses, passing the Jesuit convent and “El Sagrario” church with its unique 17th-century orthodox cross. Visit the baroque “La Compañía de Jesús” and the colonial jewel Plaza of San Francisco. End the day with amazing panoramic views from Panecillo Hill, one of Quito’s highest points.
